Vice Dean Hu Dan received his Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from Wuhan University. He conducted his postdoctoral research on Software Engineering. He is Standing Director and Secretary-General of Research Committee of Language Informatization and Intelligentization affiliated to Chinese Language Modernization Society. He is also director of Language Society of Hubei Province. His teaching and research interests lie mostly in applied linguistics, computational language, language educational technology and translation technology. He has been concentrating on technology research and development (R&D) and industrialization of intelligent language processing technology in mobile communications and owns a number of national invention patents. He has presided over multiple research projects, including sub-project of National Social Science Fund key project, National Social Science Fund general project, Humanities and Social Science Research Project sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Cooperative Industry-University Research Project jointly sponsored by Guangdong Province and the Ministry of Education, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation project and teaching and research project sponsored by Hubei Provincial Department of Education. He has published 2 academic treatises and over 20 journal articles.
